Welcome to the ViewDS demonstrations page. This demonstration page has two sets of demonstrations. The first
demonstration set is showing the use of ViewDS with an imaginary organisation called Deltawing Ltd. This
demonstration is of likely interest to Corporate & Government customers. The second set of three demonstrations
shows ViewDS in a Defence & Intelligence scenario where it demonstrates the United Kingdom Armed Forces ORBAT using
an imaginary defence organisation called Armed Services.
The core to ViewDS is an advanced XML and LDAPv3 compliant Directory & Discovery server optimized for large
numbers of entries with a highly customizable web interface and comprehensive searching capability. It has been
developed strictly adhering to open standards and it features support for the X.500; LDAPv3, XED, ATN-AMHS and
ACP 133 standards as well as DSML and SPMLv2. Being standards compliant, ViewDS will interface with a variety
of applications, both now and in the future.
ViewDS consists of four components:
1) The ViewDS Discovery Server
2) The ViewDS Access Presence Web Interface
3) The ViewDS Management Agent and
4) The ViewDS Access Sentinel XACMLv3 Policy Authorization Engine (PDP)
In the first of the two demonstration sets we will access the ViewDS Discovery server using the Access Presence web interface
as a Guest and then as an Administrator and we will explore the extensive search capabilities, using an imaginary
organisation called Deltawing Ltd.
The three demonstrations are:
- ViewDS Search Functions
- ViewDS Management Functions
- ViewDS Reporting Functions
In the second of the demonstration sets we will access the ViewDS Discovery server using the Access Presence web
interface as a Guest and then as an Administrator and we will explore the extensive search capabilities, using an
imaginary Defence organisation called Armed Forces. Here we will first demonstrate the extensive search
capabilities, we will modify an entry creating a new Brigade structure Unit in 5th Infantry Division and then move
it to the 3rd Mechanised Division deployment in Afghanistan. In each case we will show ViewDS extensive Movement of
Unit Roulemont capabilities, Organisation charting and reporting lines as well various reporting. We also show the
use of NATO Mapping symbols and Unit Insignia. Finally we will show the creation of a Naval Task Group - Task Force
Somalia with ships deployed from multiple Naval flotilla.
